I was born in Sioux Lookout, Ontario in 1953 and in 1966 my family moved to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
As a young boy I enjoyed building toy boats, rafts, tree houses, etc. and I believe that instilled in me a life long
imperative to make objects with wood being my primary choice of medium.
In 1979, after six years in a corporate position I decided to pursue woodworking as a full time job.
Working out of a basement in a duplex for the next five years I produced a variety of cabinetry and realized I needed more of a challenge and began to focus more on designing and making solid wood furniture.
In 1984 I purchased ten acres a short drive out of Saskatoon and built a 700 sq. ft. house with a 900 sq. ft. attached shop.
Over the years I have been presented with numerous awards through juried shows, I have co-coordinated woodworking conferences in Saskatoon and later at Emma Lake. I have also curated gallery shows in the Saskatchewan Craft Council gallery and been published in various woodworking magazines.
I have now been designing and making high end wood furniture for private clients for thirty nine years. A number of years ago I added product photography to my repertoire.
That work can be seen here.
